The Greina Alta alpine hiking route connects the SAC huts Camona da Medel, Capanna Michela Motterascio, and Läntahütte. It takes four days to go from Curaglia to Zervreila and is easily accessible by public transport. The route is a gem for alpine hikers and crosses the Greina Plateau, the heart of the former Parc Adula National Park.
The conditions for crossing the Fuorcla Sura da Lavaz (2705 m, T4) and Passo Soreda (2759 m, T3+) are usually good from mid-July, and the Greina Alta trek can be done until early October. For the small, crevasse-free Lavaz Glacier, the use of microspikes is recommended from around mid-August. In autumn, some sections of the path may have ice. Carrying a hiking map is strongly recommended.
Greina Alta is an alpine trek. Sudden weather changes should not be underestimated. It is worth checking the trail conditions in advance – the hut wardens are happy to provide information.
It is strongly recommended to start this tour only from mid-July onwards. Bookable as a package with a start date from July 11, 2026 or later. During peak season, we recommend doing the trek from Sunday to Wednesday.
